Brief History: Candid Photography
When it first started, photography was mainly used for portraits since the original technology required the camera and the subject to stay still for a long time. However, as soon as the technology improved in the early 1900s to be more portable, creatives immediately tried to capture authentic, unposed moments of everyday life.
Candid Photography really came to the forefront when a movement called Street Photography emerged in the 1950s. Photographers would just photograph random people on the street in an attempt to capture the human experience.
Nowadays, with everyone having a professional camera in their pocket, it is easier than ever to catch beautiful and organic photos of everyday life!

Street Photography

ISO 800
ISO is a camera setting that controls sensitivity to light. All cameras have different ISO ranges, but values can range from 100-6400.
800 is a relatively low value, meaning the camera would not be very sensitive to light. This setting is best used when shooting in a very bright area with tons of light.

Adding a slow shutter speed to your candid photo prompt can really add some action and movement to your photo.

f/1.4
This keyword is the short hand for the aperture setting in a camera. Aperture dictates how much of the lens is open, and how much light is let into the photo.
F/1.4 opens the lens up pretty significantly and adds a lot of light into the image. You can see this in the Midjourney images especially. See how even though the photos are taken in largely dark areas, there is still a significant source of light coming through? That is because of the aperture keyword.
